RTR Law welcomes Michelle McGhee, Esq. to our Worker’s Compensation department. Ms. McGhee has a diversified legal background handling all aspects of Worker’s Compensation cases throughout the State of Florida from inception of a claim, through litigation, mediation and final hearings. Ms. McGhee appreciates how frustrating and daunting a work injury can be and has the necessary expertise to navigate through the legal maze to obtain successful results for our clients.
Prior to joining RTR Law, Ms. McGhee began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney, where she prosecuted thousands of cases. During that time, she gained a tremendous amount of trial experience on a multitude of different criminal cases. Prior to law school, Ms. McGhee served as an Officer in the United States Military’s Merchant Marine, on an oil tanker off the west coast of the United States, as well as Asia. As an Officer, Ms. McGhee’s duties included the overall navigation of the vessel, as well as overseeing the loading and discharge of jet fuel. Ms. McGhee to continues to serve as an active member of the United States Merchant Marine.
Ms. McGhee was born and raised in New York. She obtained her B.S. from SUNY Maritime College. She earned her J.D. from Florida International University, where she was a Dean's List student and received the Pro Bono Service Award. Ms. McGhee resides in Fort Lauderdale with her fiancé, dog, and cat. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and all things outdoor related.
